CurrentOver 30 years of experience in geophysical research applied to a wide variety of subject areas. Specific areas of research are:Seismic, hydroacoustic, and infrasonic monitoring of nuclear tests;Earthquake/explosion discrimination;Prediction of strong ground motion from earthquakes;Inversion of seismic data for earth structure;Analysis of surface waves from underground explosions;Analysis and modeling of regional seismic phases from underground explosions;Modeling of underground explosions using nonlinear rock properties;Explanation of anomalous seismic radiation from underground explosions;Modeling of seismic signals propagating in geothermal reservoirs.Development of wireless sensor networks based on Smart Dust technology.Software development including automatic and interactive systems. Software developed includes: Maxsurf/Maxpmf, automatic surface wave processing program used at the International Data Center;GEOSYS, geothermal database and analysis system;Analyst review station for the DARPA Yield Estimation System (YES);Tomographic inversion of surface wave data for earth structure.
