Key Achievements:• £4M increase in income (2012-16) for the sale of dry recyclates collected at kerbside for four councils;• £264k value-added benefits (2012-13) accrued through an inter-partnership joint procurement of waste collection vehicles (44 waste vehicles ordered to date using the framework contract);• £1.6M p.a. on-going efficiency savings through supporting nine local authorities;• £330K grant funding secured (2009-12) to support on-going improvements and cost-saving measures;• Gaining consensus and agreement to implement partnership-wide policy and strategy to facilitate best practice;• My key focus was identifying efficiencies, savings and increasing income generation whilst maintaining on-going service improvements for customers. My overarching goals were the delivery of persistent excellence in performance and results;• I drafted and drove the implementation of a 3 year rolling, annually refreshed, business plan. A key target included developing the business case to deliver significant resource efficiency via a fundamental revision of waste management services in the sub-region.• I led the Partnership on the on-going delivery of its 20 year joint Municipal Waste Management Strategy, owned by the nine partner local authorities (comprising: the County Council plus seven two-tier district councils and City of York Council); Recycling rates across the Partnership area are now >45% and the Partnership delivers on-going waste prevention campaigns & events across the sub-region (engendering behavior change).
