Sets strategic direction and oversees all aspects of the die casting and component machining efforts of business unit. Responsible for ongoing operations, internal use component insourcing initiatives, strategic external business growth, overall site profit & loss performance, budget creation, CapEx planning, and development of local management team which includes operations, sales, finance, procurement, quality, EHS, engineering, operational excellence, and HR. • Develop and drive a safety-first culture.• Mentor workforce to achieve both personal and professional career growth.• Assess workforce for best fit roles and responsibilities, recruit personnel that address identified resource gaps, and refine organizational structures to best support business function and goals.• Lead cost containment and reduction activities to achieve and beat aggressive budget targets. • Develop and implement external growth strategies to fully utilize available site capacity.• Develop and foster continuous improvement culture that leverages lean manufacturing principles to ensure year over year improvement of operational KPI’s. • Drive new product launch activity to achieve proposed timing and required cost/profitability targets.• Collaborate with internal and external customers toward win-win and Best-In-Class performance solutions for both parties.• Identify where site lags industry standards and develop and implement short/long-term equipment and facility improvement plans, and corresponding CapEx investments required to eliminate gaps.• Develop and execute annual and multi-year business plans, and accurately forecast updates as conditions evolve. • Key member of the corporate Operations Leadership Team that directs reviews of overall site performance and provides support and leadership to achieve overall corporate goals and objectives.
