I've had an exciting, diverse career in space and aerospace. My current assignment is as VP-Strategy, Analysis and Government Engagement (SAGE) at the engineering services and consulting firm, Velos. We have a great line up of aerospace clients doing incredibly exciting things. Before that I was VP-Government Affairs at Virgin Orbit-National Systems (VO-NS), where I led all VO-NS customer engagement, strategy and advocacy in WDC for its air-launch space business. This included promoting a more tactically responsive, resilient space architecture. Working with the White House, Congress, DoD and other leaders I supported the creation and funding of a new "Responsive Space" mission area, enabling more rapid responses to threats to US space systems. I also positioned our company to use its air-launch system for hypersonic and missile defense applications.In my prior Boeing career I worked in business development, program and subcontract management, strategic planning and government relations. My leadership roles included VP-Business Development for its Network & Space business, where I oversaw 150 professionals capturing $10 billion in new space, missile defense and intelligence business annually. I also served as Boeing VP-Business Development for Space & Intelligence and VP-Space, Intelligence & Missile Defense in its Government Affairs office, leading an executive team serving Military Space, NASA/Civil Space, Missile Defense and Intelligence customers.Early in my career I was honored to be part of the Boeing team that captured, developed and launched the International Space Station for NASA. This orbiting laboratory is a triumph of engineering and global collaboration--a modern "wonder of the world." I also was proud to serve as a program manager and subcontract manager for a critical launch system used to deploy the Ulysses satellite for NASA and the European Space Agency. Throughout my career I've also focused on volunteering and giving back to the community, including as Satellite Industry Association Chair, Aerospace Industries Association Space Council Chair, National Space Club President, Washington Executive Space Council Chair and a Member of the Brown University School of Engineering Corporate Advisory Board. I also currently support the Institute of Defense Analysis-Science and Technology Policy Institute (STPI) as an Adjunct Staff Member, where I've worked on various space studies, and have co-authored a piece on Planetary Protection Policy. https://issues.org/mars-is-coming-to-earth-planetary-protection-policy/
