I manage the accounting department including one direct report. Responsibilities include updating and managing a series of cash flow and deposit/disbursement trackers on a daily basis in order to maximize the utilization of working capital. Supervising the accounts payable and accounts receivable process to include invoice approval and the daily posting of transactions to the general ledger system. Overseeing and executing the processing of payroll which includes the allocation of employee and temp labor hours to the Job Costing System. I began my professional journey after graduation from college at one the top performing divisions of Walco International which was a nationwide veterinary supply and pharmaceutical distributor. Being the Divisional Office Manager I had a ground level opportunity to contribute and learn the inner workings of this distribution company. My responsibilities included tracking a perpetual inventory which was reconciled at year end with a physical inventory and audit. I processed accounts payable invoices, generated sales invoices, and posted accounts receivable customer payments. I closed each month, ran customer statements and prepared detailed reports of sales, inventory, and purchasing data. The experience gained in my years here prepared me well when I was promoted to Controller for the east coast region of the company.
