In 1984 I joined the Australian Boating Organisation as a cadet journalist, specialising in power trailerboats and small boat fishing. Appointed Assistant Editor of Trailerboat Fisherman magazine in 1985, and Editor from 1988 to 1993. In late 1995, I began publishing my own magazines and have been doing so ever since. My first publication, Secondhand Boat Secrets, was a resounding success as it broached a segment of the market that mainstream monthly boating titles had ignored. Secondhand Boat Secrets is now regarded as something of a bible among used boat buyers.In recent years, I have concentrated on establishing a series of different "one-off" style trailerboat buyer's guides. They include Secondhand Boat Secrets (1st, 2nd, & 3rd Editions), the Top 100 Secondhand Trailerboats (1st & 2nd Editions), Fitting Out For Sport Fishing, Fitting Out For Bay & Coastal Fishing, The Fish & Family Boat Guide, Fitting Out For Lake & River Fishing, and Trailerboat Buyer's Guide. During the last 15 years, I have freelanced for the respected magazines, Fisherman & Boatowner, Freshwater Fishing Australia, Sport Fishing, Trailer Boat, and Bluewater Boats and Sport Fishing. I am now writing freelance powerboat tests for Boatsales.com.au and Club Marine magazine.
