Increasing capacity for coldwater conservation in the Southern Appalachians through on-ground project implementation and management, fundraising, planning and providing community members with meaningful project roles. Key highlights from this and the Project Coordinator position include:- Completing 5 major projects over the last 2 years. These included 3 crossing replacements, 1 fencing projecct and 1 road rehabilitation project.- Securing multiple federal agreements and non-federal grants over three years, resulting in over $1.1 million for conservation projects.- Participating in 8 professional stakeholder groups working to increase the scale and capacity of on-ground conservation work. - Developing and guiding 6 Community Science programs to engage local community members in meaningful data collection for conservation. All programs used app-based technology for data collection and distribution.
