My diverse background has a common thread: I love taking on challenging problems. I go headlong into uncharted waters and build strategy and structure where there previously was none. I’m passionate about digital strategy and data analytics in healthcare and education, and am deeply committed to evidence-based practice as a dual academic-practitioner. Executives look to me to assess challenging digital strategy problems and provide constructive, actionable solutions. My research as a late-stage PhD student addresses innovative uses of digital technology in healthcare. I have been actively engaged as a researcher in a remote patient monitoring initiative by community paramedics. This has resulted in a best paper award for an analysis of organizational strategy success factors. It also led to a publication in the world’s leading IS journal for our analysis of how patients and paramedics respond to digital alerts. The hallmark of my research is using advanced research methods, and distilling findings into actionable insights by executives. As co-author and co-editor of Toward a Canadian Healthcare Strategy, I engaged senior Canadian healthcare executives and policymakers to address sticky problems like pharmacare, health human resources, integrated care, and EHRs. My academic life is complemented by my role as an Executive at Traction on Demand, where I drive digital innovation at leading higher education institutions. Less than 18 months after launching our practice, we were awarded Partner of the Year by Salesforce.org. We were also awarded the Partner Innovation Award by Salesforce.com for our COVID-19 digital response with Georgetown University. In building our practice, I’ve provided leadership to sales and development teams. We have generated consistent satisfaction with leading institutions including Ivy League, state systems, private colleges, and community colleges. Through COVID-19, I also supported the launch of Traction on Demand’s digital healthcare practice. We scaled rapidly by partnering closely with Salesforce.com. In the initial months of our practice, we successfully managed State-level implementations.
