In combination with the use of both internal and external resources, I was responsible for the design, development, and project management of machine frame weldments, minienvironment system enclosures, fan filter units, and optional equipment assemblies. These subassemblies were used in conjunction with robotic material handling assemblies to create the company’s next generation atmospheric silicon wafer transfer system.• Using Pro/Engineer, AutoCAD and GD&T practices, I conceptualized, designed and detailed a vast number of mechanical assemblies. Major assemblies included machine frame weldments, system mini-environment enclosures, and Fan Filter Units. System level “optional equipment” assemblies that were designed included a Graphical User Interface, low-cost internal lighting system, EMO assembly, and a system status light tower assembly. DFMA methodology was extensively applied and drawings were created to ASME Y14.5M-1994 standards.• Responsible for and designed the kinematic mounting system for the Robot, Traverser and Loadport Modules.• Selected and managed a strategic outsourcing partner to achieve program deliverables.• Collaborated with a worldwide technical team to achieve the objectives that I was responsible for.• On a regular basis, conducted design reviews and conveyed project status to the cross-functional team as well as a number of executive staff members.• Authored several engineering documents.• Used Microsoft Project to create and manage project schedules.• Created customer specific mechanical parts and assemblies which were driven by Beta customers.• Responsible for writing, reviewing, approving and rejecting ECOs.• This program had very strict cost targets. I successfully met the cost targets that I was given.
