  • Yahoo
Product Owner, Flickr Uploadr And Camera Roll (Post Acquisition)
    Yahoo Jun 2014 - Dec 2015
    Sunnyvale, Ca, Us
Following PhotoDrive's acquisition, at Flickr (parent company Yahoo) as a product manager I led development teams for product/technologies which came across with PhotoDrive acquisition — including managing product/engineering teams across server/mobile/web/desktop for the iOS/Android camera roll, server-side de-duplication, and Mac/Windows Uploader products.Achievements with team include:• Markedly improved on-boarding and retention metrics of users uploading photos in quantity to Flickr.• Led client and backend teams to engineer/deploy on schedule at huge scale, simultaneously shipping mobile, web, BE, Mac, and Windows products. Survived last minute Windows team crunch and Android app launch day scare.• Our team's efforts increased upload volume to Flickr by over 100x while maintaining UX of core product and stability of backend.• Served as creative direction for Mac and Windows Uploadr products, yielding a wonderful and beautiful app design imagined by our visual design team.• Designed and patented new easy-browsing gesture nicknamed "Peek and Scrub", built on top of Apple's 3D-Touch.

"iCloud Photos before there was iCloud Photos." For Mac & iOS, PhotoDrive offers 1TB of free cloud storage & sync powered by Flickr.Flickr offers an incredible 1TB of free photo storage, but lacks the tools to use it. That's where we come in. PhotoDrive offers a Mac app that provides automated uploading of your entire collection to Flickr with de-duplication, Dropbox-like access to your original files, along with a beautiful, gesture-based photo gallery for iOS to browse and organize your collection.**PhotoDrive was a 2yr old solo-preneur startup, with critical support provided by the University of Michigan TechArb incubator and mentorship teams. PhotoDrive was acquired by Flickr's parent company Yahoo June 2014 -- its technology continues to help power its camera roll and uploaders today. http://photodrive.io

  • Independant Software Developer
    Independent Software Developer
Independant Software Developer Feb 2000 - Jul 2006
I began programming in C at age 8. In high-school I led a team of student web developers to create websites for local businesses, and developed other freeware, shareware and experimental titles in my free time.At age 14, future business partner Stardock reached out regarding my app "MacVision" to acquire the product's assets, and to enter into a new line of business together making productivity apps. We joined forces, and together we produced about a dozen experimental apps, landing several hits — most notably ObjectDock, which reached >20M downloads, and remains well known by the Windows ecosystem 20yrs later today. Based on the result of our work, we also built an app store which we sold to GameStop.
