Mgr - Software Development

Videopropulsion Interactive Television

As manager of software development for this entrepreneurial company, I created project methods, reporting, and controls for software projects based on Agile project methodologies. Within the first two weeks the team was better focused, senior staff had current and accurate information, and submitted information was a minimal burden to the engineering staff. Metrics around individual performance created more focus on priority projects and unnecessary activities were identified and reduced. The effect of any change in priorities could be rapidly modeled, measured, and reported. Additionally, I assisted in the effort for provisional and non-provisional patent submission. After a reduction in workforce, I took on added responsibilities supporting business applications and engineering IT infrastructure. This included server, desktop, hardware/software support, and satellite, cable, and video streaming networks.

Feb 2010 - Jul 2010

Director It And Quality Operations

Ne1, Inc

As Director IT, my group is responsible for all IT related initiatives and day-to-day operation. During my time here we deployed a Cisco VOIP telephone system throughout the enterprise reducing maintenance and operating cost by unifying our network. We selected and implemented a enterprise wide ERP system in 10 mos.(Epicor Vantage) serving 3 independent businesses. This included integrating our ERP with several web sites and automating transaction with selling partners such as Sky Mall.We provide support to end users and maintain all computing infrastructure such as workstations, servers, printers, machining centers and lab equipment. To better support the unique network demands of our equipment and VOIP systems across different locations, we switched our WAN technology from Point-to-point T1's to a unified MPLS network. My group also influences the technology inside our products by having a part in the company's product engineering efforts. This brings maximum benefit to the company as well as the end user. For example, all ink refilling machines in the field are reporting performance metrics every day. We can proactively calibrate the machine, order supplies, suggest maintenance activities or schedule service, with minimum impact to our customer and maximize first time call effectiveness.

Nov 2006 - Jun 2009

Manager

Davita - Rms Lifeline 2005 To 2006

We successfully performed the upgrade maintaining a similar look and feel minimizing the need for extensive re-training and minimizing the business impact to the clinics.Installed a new clinical billing system to streamline insurance claim submission and expedite payment processing.Added ultrasound and x-ray imaging capability to the patient's electronic medical record for all the lifeline clinics.

Apr 2005 - Nov 2006

Technical Dir R&D It

– I was responsible for tools and processes to support Baxter’s product development process. My objective was to streamline the product development process, increasing speed to value on all Baxter top programs. Non-value added activities were taken out of the process, and required activities mechanized with digital information systems. I established the Global Program Office for Baxter’s Product Data Management system – the first to employ xTreme programming methods to manage a global program. Since established, the PDM team had not missed a single deadline or deliverable! We established a repeatable process that featured high customer involvement, Project Managers with high accountability, team focus on delivery with metrics, continuous feedback, and improvement. This office was so successful that it was expanded to other major programs.

Oct 2000 - Nov 2004

Director Of Information Systems

I established and directed the Engineering and Scientific Computing Services (ESCS) group which started as a small group of 8 software developers and turned it into four major departments with over 75 people in 4 years. ESCS was known for responsibly deploying technically aggressive solutions to meet the needs of Baxter's technical and R&D communities.
