About Jeff Breitenstein

Learning and Development (L&D) and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) have been constants throughout my professional journey. With over 15 years of experience in digital product management, I’m thankful for a career that’s been well-rounded and focused on creating meaningful experiences while contributing to the development of an equitable, inclusive, and accessible workplace.I’m a builder, problem solver, and servant-leader and firmly believe that applying the same level of dedication to L&D and DEIB initiatives, as one would to building successful software products, is essential for driving positive organizational change. This involves active listening, experimentation, measurement, and continuous iteration to establish sustainable and industry-leading programs. I have a proven record of partnering with multiple departments to embed an L&D and DEIB mindset in their strategies, resulting in outcomes aligned with company values and business objectives. In addition, I'm an advocate for web accessibility, striving to eliminate barriers and provide equal opportunities for individuals of all backgrounds and abilities. In the workplace, I’ve also taken a leading role to establish Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) and implement DEIB initiatives that have had a positive impact on company culture. For instance, I am the founder of GLAmazon, Amazon.com’s ERG for LGBTQ+ employees, which has expanded to over 40 chapters worldwide.Strengths✪ Proficient in developing instructional programs tailored to the needs and motivations of learners✪ Ability to instigate change within organizations by challenging existing practices and inspiring positive disruption to promote L&D and DEIB programs✪ Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to critically analyze situations and build robust relationships✪ Effective communicator, adept at conveying complex ideas in a clear and engaging mannerOutside of work: husband, tender of a 1.7-acre botanic garden, home chef, mentor, tiki mug collector, enthusiastic traveler, and forest wanderer.
