During Q&A with audiences, I realized most Americans didn't know much about history, and why should they? It was boring in high school. I realized If I could edcuate readers about our history as it relates to tactical issues such as the role of the Federal Government and how our tax system has evolved, it's much more interesting and digestible. I was appointed sales office Managing Partner with oversight of 350 sales representatives (30 internal and 320 brokerage relationships) and 5 staff members across Oklahoma and Arkansas. In this capacity, I was responsible for all aspects of recruiting, training, development, and regulatory compliance.

I developed a specialty in estate planning and business applications for insurance and investment products. By cultivating strategic marketing relationships with investment representatives, broker/dealers, insurance producers, attorneys, and accountants, I grew the operation from $0 in production to well over $300mm in my last year in this capacity.

My primary responsibility was recruiting and training top-level sales staff. During my tenure, I grew the sales force by 47%. In addition to my sales management role, I managed the administrative staff.

I worked on a team that developed a needs-based financial planning process for business owners and executive teams. This is where I got my first taste of sales and I loved it. I met with business leaders around the country providing our planning service and analyzing their employee and executive benefits packages. Another aspect of this job was conducting employee benefit planning seminars and marketer training sessions throughout the nation. In the process, I trained hundreds of sales representatives in needs-based selling and, specifically, our planning tool.
