FounderEd100.Org Apr 2020 - May 2023Oakland, Ca, UsCreated and ran the Ed100 Academy for Student Leaders, a free program that equipped hundreds of high school students to step up to leadership roles in their school, their community and beyond. Started in the thick of the pandemic, the annual highlight of this largely student-run program was a three-day online conference that featured speakers including Gavin Newsom, Sal Khan, and more than 50 others including elected officials, researchers, celebrities and (crucially) student leaders. After three years, transitioned the program to new leadership under Children Now, a California nonprofit organization, as the Summit for Student Leaders.

The committee's work was important in the development of the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF), which extensively revised the way that dollars are allocated to California districts. This change has brought significant new resources to schools in the state's highest-need districts.
