The Texas Medical Center Accelerator (TMCx) launched in March 2015 and welcomed its first class of 21 health care startups from across the United States and the world. Throughout the program, startups went through an intense business curriculum and engaged with hospital stakeholders from the Texas Medical Center to refine their value proposition and determine their product/market fit. TMCx provides inside access to more patients, physicians, and hospitals than anywhere else in the world. Participants accepted into the program are equipped with the resources to successfully commercialize their innovations, including: a tailored curriculum, experienced mentorship, and a network of legal, business, and regulatory professionals. Unlike most accelerators, startups in TMC|X are not required to take dilutive funding or give up equity to participate in the program. In addition, TMC|X is well-funded and excited to invest alongside promising startups to help them overcome the valley of death and expedite the delivery of game-changing solutions.
