About Jeff Doff (He/Him)

With over 10 years of experience in product management, I lead cross-functional teams with a passion for winning with the consumer and the customer. I have managed product lines ranging from $10MM to $250MM in revenues in a variety of product categories that serve families. Using data and qualitative research, I've developed the ability to identify opportunities in the marketplace, like a price point and feature gap in the stroller category. I then led the team in development and go-to-market on what has become the #1 selling stroller in North America. I have demonstrated success in business development both in creating partnerships as well as presenting and selling in new products to large and small retailers (e.g. Walmart/Target as well as mid-tier and specialty). As the omni-channel market has grown, I have developed Amazon and e-commerce skills which are essential in today's market. For example, I led a task force on how to accelerate momentum with new launches on Amazon.

Creating Tiny Wins for parents and brighter futures for children.Kids2 acquired SUMR Brands in June of 2022. When I returned to SUMR Brands in July of 2021, the company was struggling. With significant leadership turnover and a turnaround CEO in place, SUMR needed to stabilize. Leading by example, I worked to give the team confidence that we were headed in the right direction. Managing our largest product category (Safety Gates), I maintained calmess and got proactive when our largest supplier (for over 70% of our business) showed signs of heading south. I led the team in migrating our business to multiple suppliers on a rapid schedule. As our inventory for key customers dwindled, I came up with and implemented creative solutions for keeping our customers in supply as best we could during the transition. We onboarded multiple new suppliers, in some cases building relationships from ground zero, and now have a stable supply base. When the VP of the product team went on maternity leave, I was asked to lead her team of 8 through multiple major retailer Line Reviews and to help keep product development on track. It was my honor to help the team grow in their presenting capabilities, support their product development experience, and to anticipate and plan for business needs. As the acquisition became official, I was asked to be an ambassador in helping to bridge the Kids2 culture to our company. As part of the Kids2 Crew, I also co-planned our Field Day event and our Global Give Back service day as well as other special events. On the business side, I worked to quickly understand how Kids2 approaches financial modeling / pricing & to help the SUMR team get up to speed with the new financial models.
  • Ompractice
    Head Of Partnerships
    Ompractice Nov 2020 - Jun 2021
    Springfield, Ma, Us
Ompractice is a (fantastic) interactive live virtual wellness platform where instructors offer over 100 classes per week over Zoom in yoga, meditation, and other wellness modalities. When I joined Ompractice as Head of Partnerships, the company had great traction in the public sector with organizations like the Veterans Administration, but wanted to grow in the private sector as an employee benefit for large companies. In my time at Ompractice, I secured meetings with several fortune 100 companies including one of the largest retailers in the world and one of the largest CPG companies in the world. I established a partnership with a top 10 business school to help establish business credibility, and enrolled our first large corporate client - a Fortune 500 company with over 60,000 employees. I also created our corporate pricing model, built our selling decks including ROI story, and developed a live onboarding for employees to help increase utilization. In addition, I served as an advocate for our potential corporate customers and their employees by tuning in to gaps in our product offering and raising awareness with our team. The biggest barrier to adoption at the time was that companies wanted a broader range of options in addition to yoga. Ompractice has since broadened its class offering by adding non-yoga classes such as strength training.
  • Kids2
    Product Marketing Director
    Kids2 Feb 2015 - Nov 2020
    Atlanta, Ga, Us
SUMR Brands was a publicly traded company in the juvenile products space, acquired by Kids2 in June 2022.One of my accomplishments at SUMR was growing our Convenience Stroller business to #1 market share position. One way I contributed to our growth was leading the development & sell-in of the 3Dmini stroller which became the #1 convenience stroller in North America. I identified a pricepoint gap between the OPP $20 umbrella strollers and the $99 HPP convenience strollers. I also sensed that because the $20 strollers sold at such high unit volume but with key features missing, there was a significant opportunity for retailers to trade up their customers for a ~$50 stroller with strong feature set. I led our team in developing the 3Dmini and then sold it in first to Target, then Babies R’ Us, and then Walmart.Originally, I was hired by the CMO of SUMR in December of 2011 to work across product categories totaling $200MM in revenues, driving profitability through cost reduction, SKU rationalizion, product improvement, and business analytics. One of my first projects was to improve our SKU Add-Drop process which I quickly learned was disliked by almost everyone as a day-long bear of a meeting. After meeting with key stakeholders across functions, I outlined a streamlined process and refined the proposal (and got buy in) by circling back with stakeholders. The business outcome was a 38% reduction in SKU count and an improved process that the team actually enjoyed: a 60-90 minute meeting with some pre-work in advance so the meeting could focus on any remaining SKUs needing alignment. I have been leveraged as a utility player leading product marketing & product development for multiple juvenile product categories including activity seats, strollers, baby monitors, cribs, baby bottles and sippy cups, safety gates, travel, and playards across multiple brands (Summer Infant, Born Free, and SwaddleMe).

  • Neighborhood Business Builders
    Loan Fund Manager
Neighborhood Business Builders Apr 2002 - Aug 2003
When I joined Neighborhood Business Builders, a non-profit program providing consulting and SBA loans to inner city entrepreneurs, I knew that I was headed towards business school but wanted to first test and expand the skills that I had built at Monitor Group.I started out as a consultant, and when my boss left I was asked to become the Loan Fund Manager. It was truly rewarding to meet local entrepreneurs and help them with their business plans and financial models, and to help them apply for SBA loans and to advocate on their behalf before the Loan Committee.Proudly, I secured $60,000 in financing for 3 retail start-ups and 3 service business expansions. Not huge dollars, but the thought and care that went into each loan was great learning, and the capital was life changing for the entrepreneurs.
  • Monitor Deloitte (Monitor Group)
    Consultant
Monitor Deloitte (Monitor Group) Jun 2000 - Aug 2001
Coming from a non-business background, this was a fantastic opportunity for me to learn about business strategy, analytics, competitive research, and communication skills. The Excel skills I picked up at Monitor (e.g. vlookups and sumifs) have stayed with me, but the greater impact of my time at Monitor was the encouragement of my curiosity and the practice of asking questions. On a segmentation project in the health insurance industry, our team was frustrated because the data was not showing any clear groupings within the data. I asked if perhaps there was a dimension that we weren't looking at yet that could help to better group the client's regional offices. We then looked at the regional offices through the lens of leadership style, and a clear pattern emerged. When a group of people is standing in front of a "locked" door, I' m the person who always checks the door knob. In terms of specific duties at Monitor, I performed competitor research & analysis, market segmentation, and financial modeling to enable customer decision-making in multiple industries.
  • Sirius Community
    Eco-Village Experience
    Sirius Community Jan 1998 - Dec 1999
Living and working at Sirius Ecovillage was a formative career and life experience. Sirius is a non-profit retreat & conference center with ~2,000 guests per year and is run by consensus by its ~25 members. As a relatively recent college grad, I was figuring out who I was and what I wanted to do in the world. At Sirius, I cooked regularly for 30-40 people, participated in a carpentry apprenticeship program, worked in the gardens, and served retreat & workshop participants. One of my greatest lessons at Sirius was about listening to diverse perspectives and building consensus and buy in. I also learned through reading, conversations, and personal experience the power of business to make a positive impact in the world. While at Sirius, I started my own enterprise teaching people how to build innovative eco-friendly cooking devices and how to grow shiitake mushrooms. I built my own website, developed marketing materials, and created training programs. While this was not a lucrative venture, it taught me that there was a lot more I needed to learn about business, and inspired me to do so.
