Flinchbaugh is the originator of Strategic Cell Migration (TM) - the low risk alternative to traditional outsourcing.Industries served include: Heavy Equipment, Heavy Truck, Oil and Gas Exploration, Agriculture, Industrial Bearings, Marine, and Heat Exchangers.Products produced range from 2" head flanges, to 36" O.D. Clutch Housings, to 10,000lb Heat Exchanger Plates. Materials include gray and ductile iron castings, steel castings, forgings, bars, and plates, aluminum, and specialty alloys.Our plants run 24/7, but not all channels and machines run at any given time. On average, one to two shifts of capacity exists across the board. Flinchbaugh is a production shop, not a job shop. We look for steady, repeat business that can employ cellular manufacturing on an ongoing basis. Create Gantt chart for the start-up of 36 new products, and ensure timely completion of each step of the project. Interact with customer weekly to provide updates to progress and to address any technical concerns.

Supervise quality activities including the management and development of quality engineering and assurance teams, strategic planning of quality activities, setting yearly department goals, cost of poor quality (COPQ) cost reduction, and implementation of cost savings plans. Collaborate directly with customer and vendor design and quality teams on new product development projects, manage the submission of PPAP/APQP documentation as required by the customer, and review and approve all vendor PPAP’s. Produce and analyze Statistical Process Control (SPC) data for the purpose of identifying and improving process limitations. Manage internal and external corrective actions for quality issues, disposition non-conforming material, and research and recommend new manufacturing support processes. Oversee FEI's ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS), train internal auditors, coordinate and conduct internal audits as well as management review. Lead efforts for quality certification for current and potential customers.

Oversee and coordinate implementation of software designed to greatly reduce quality engineering time required to prepare Production Part Approval Process (PPAP, or APQP) documentation. Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) programming, development of inspection processes, creation of PPAP documentation, and ISO QMS controller and auditor. Create inspection documentation and procedures for new parts. Develop in-process and final inspection measuring devices to ensure product conformance to customer specifications. Write CMM programs for new parts requiring automated inspection, as well as troubleshoot and improve existing programs.Work with customers regarding quality issues and improvements. Prepare PPAP documentation, including Gage R&R, Cpk studies, Dimension Layouts, FMEA's, Control Plans, Balloon Drawings, and other documentation required by the customer.Oversee the company's ISO QMS. Ensure that our ISO scope correctly reflects the company's goals. Oversee and personally conduct internal audits of the QMS. Conduct management review with upper management to ensure compliance to the ISO standard.Work within an ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) company with an emphasis on Lean Manufacturing and insistence in participation in a Kaizen (Continuous Improvement) program geared toward lowering internal costs and safety risks.

New Product Development •Worked as a team with production and R&D to release 2 new, innovative products to the market. Developed new manufacturing technique that is done no where else in the vinyl lamination industry by implementing 3 key procedures, 2 new to the industry, for our latest product. Sales impact reached over $1 million in 2009. •Developed a product (patent pending) to introduce new manufacturing on site and to increase client basis. •Designed 4 new finished goods as well as manufacturing procedures and costing. Project Management •Developed new manufacturing procedure for large yearly order, trained temp employees, and made decisions to fire employees when needed. Responsible for setting budget for the project, designing the procedure, justifying the expenditure with proven testing of such procedure, training all employees, and terminating any person not contributing to the team. •Managed 6 product development projects to design new products, procedures, and costing in order to expand business or to meet customer requests. Cost Reduction •Developed new raw material formulation to reduce the production cost of 1 product by $30,000 a year. Formula is being tested in other product lines with a total estimated savings of over $100,000 a year. •Designed and developed a procedure to increase speed and reduce costs of production for a large yearly order. Project saved over $8,000 dollars and reduced production time by 30%. Process Improvements •Created new process for manufacturing of a product in order to reduce production time and costs significantly. Project encompassed less than half of the production and saved over $8,000 in labor costs, reducing completion time for the order by 30%. •Created 4 procedures currently in use designed to reduce waste (by monitoring and correcting manufacturing variances), salvage raw materials, produce higher quality finished goods, and reduce production time.
