openIDL is an open blockchain network that streamlines regulatory reporting and provides new insights for insurers, while enhancing timeliness, accuracy, and value for regulators. It is an innovative collaboration of insurance carriers, state insurance regulators, industry service associations (e.g., AAIS https://aaisonline.com), technology infrastructure partners, and Hyperledger Fabric permissioned-network blockchain open source software, technology and community support from the Linux Foundation.openIDL enables the efficient, secure, and permissioned-based collection and sharing of statistical data with regulators, and will also provide benefits to the insurance industry not just by reducing the costs to respond to data queries by state insurance commissioners but also by providing carriers with access to anonymized, aggregated data that reflect the status of coverage in different regions and lines of business.I am grateful to have been given the opportunity to contribute to this project on behalf of the many collaborating stakeholders who are participating in openIDL, and fortunate to have the support of a motivated and talented team at the Linux Foundation as we all work to grow this initiative and extend its benefits to a broader community of insurance carriers and state regulators.

Member, Board of Directors.Chair of the Technology, Operations and Standards Committee of the GLEIF Board of Directors.Previous activities with the development of the LEI:* Coordinator of the FSB LEI Private Sector Preparatory Group (PSPG) operations work stream;* Lead editor of the recommendations, requirements analysis and system design of the federated Global Legal Entity Identifier System (GLEIS) that the PSPG handed off to the LEI Regulatory Oversight Committee (LEI ROC) in January 2013 soon after the ROC was created.

As a principal at Tahoe Internet Partners, Mr. Braswell produced full-service web-enabled solutions for scalable server platforms. TIP provided solutions and expertise to clients and vendors in the areas of web design, information architecture, content management, systems integration, high availability and network security involving both high-performance technology and business channel integration. Clients included Unisys, Sony, First Union Bank, Verisign, BEA, Cisco, and BMG.

As President of Risk Management Technologies (then a newly acquired subsidiary of Fair, Isaac), Mr. Braswell introduced the advanced graphical Extract/Transform/Load (ETL) code-generating technology that he developed at RMT to the large mainframe information processing tasks at Fair, Isaac.

As Co-founder, President and CTO of RMT, Mr. Braswell led the architectural design and development of RMT products and technology from the inception of the company through its successful acquisition by Fair, Isaac. He:Led a talented team of developers and subject matter experts to create RADAR, a comprehensive suite of quantitative financial analysis, business intelligence, risk management and data integration products for the world’s largest financial institutions. Clients included Chase, ANZ, Sumitomo, Abbey National, Credit Suisse, and Wells Fargo, and OFHEO. Designed and managed the development of a powerful data management ETL tool which enabled business analysts to graphically specify data mapping business rules subsequently used to automatically generate code used to populate the data warehouse from legacy sources. Designed the data models and data integration methodologies for all of the company’s products, in addition to guiding the tuning of the analysis and data management processes to achieve exceptional scalable performance on the most powerful MPP and SMP server platforms available.Spear-headed the development of the strategic alliances and partnerships that helped catapult RMT into a leading provider of world-class enterprise-wide risk management solutions. These partnerships included a Global Strategic Partnership with IBM (in which IBM provided a 16-node SP2 parallel processor to RMT for 2 years based on the strength of the RADAR system's massively parallel processing architecture), Digital Equipment Corporation, HP, Informix, and Oracle.

Prior to the creation of RMT, Mr. Braswell led an information systems consulting practice.
