Ensures the protection of Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) security interests defined in the body of Department of Energy (DOE) orders and directives at SPR operating locations.Responsibilities encompass management of a security program compliant with federal codes, DOE orders, policy, and program guidance in a cost efficient manner consistent with the resources allocated. This position has direct supervision of a staff of Personnel and Internal Security Specialists; provides matrixed technical oversight of the four Site Security Specialists and the Communications Engineer; and assists the Protection & Physical Security Manager in the contract oversight of the security services protective force. The Personnel and Internal Security Programs under this command include Information Security, Technical Security, and the SPR Personal Identity Verification & Badging Program. Information Security encompasses the Operations Security (OPSEC) Program, Classified Matter Protection and Control (CMPC) Program, Classification and Information Control Program, the SPR Personnel Security Program, the Foreign National Visit and Assignment Program, and the Foreign Ownership, Control, or Influence (FOCI) Program. Technical Security maintains administrative oversight of the classified processing systems including TEMPEST, COMSEC, Safeguards and Security Information Management System (SSIMS), Emergency Communications Network, Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM), COMSEC, and Classified Computer Security programs.
