Petco Park San Diego

Manage all Point of Sale, POS, systems throughout the baseball park for concessions, suites, catering events, and retail, utilizing 3 different POS software systems.. Maintain all computers, printers, time clocks for the offices and warehouse. Work with the Padres IT department as they maintain the local area network. Under my direction, during the 2019 season revenues are up as this is the best that IT systems have ever performed and I continue to strive to make the systems better and more stability. I have one IT technician and several part-time personnel who provide support during busy home games.

West Yellowstone, Montana

IT Manager for Yellowstone Properties, includes 3 hotels and cabins and Vacation Tours, bus tours and snowmobile rentals in West Yellowstone. Support POS for 12 seasonal general stores located throughout Yellowstone National Park and the general stores warehouse and offices in West Yellowstone. Yellowstone Vacation Tours had no POS system, everything was manual, they had a small web presence and had been unable to find a computerized system that would work for them. Within my first month I researched and recommended a POS system for them, the company adopted this software as it provided for their requirements and budget and has been implemented. It is being considered by other sites within Delaware North. The server was crashing at least twice a week at the Holiday Inn hotel and the interface to the restaurant POS system was constantly failing. Working with the tech support from these companies, we were able to stabilize the software systems so now the server is restarted only to implement windows updates and the interfaces rarely have to be restarted.

IT Administrator, Delaware North Sports Services at Qualcomm stadium. Supporting all POS for suites, clubs, concessions, and retail along with the network and server/head-end room for the San Diego Chargers and San Diego State University along with other events at the stadium. Assisted during the off-season at Petco Park for events and Padres MLB games.

Greater Salt Lake City Area

Provide IT support for all LHM Sports properties including Energy Solutions Arena, Spring Mobile Ballpark, Miller Motorsports Park, and Zions Bank Basketball Center. This includes working on the help desk, supporting Macintosh and PC computers, various Point of Sale systems, Micros and Aloha and various software packages. Working during events and on call. Using LanDesk for remote desktop support and desktop management. Work with the server and network teams, working on network switches and creating accounts in Active Directory and Exchange servers, setup printers on the server, and assign users to the proper groups. Phone support for Cisco VoIP and using Cisco Jabber and mobile phone connectivity for email and WiFi. Network support, wired and wireless, reset port security, resolve connectivity issues making sure devices are in the proper Vlan and employee VPN access.

Improving ways of organizing the daily business processes and the role that technology may play. Before my full-time employment with Great Basin Beverage, installed and supported the computers/server from the start of this business. Implementing laptop order entry for the sales reps. Orders are transmitted to the office over the internet through a Firewall VPN. Directing the organization of the warehouse for pulling orders and stock rotation. Training the office personnel, making better use of the current software. Training the sales reps on the use of the laptop order processing system. Work with suppliers for product orders and new product evaluation. Working with the sales manager to accomplish the organization of sales and delivery routes. Organize new product promotions and events and providing customer support.

Supervised a team of 5 employees and student workers covering the main campus and 4 centers in the 65,000 square mile service area for Great Basin College. When I started as the Director of Computer Services, I was the sole employee of the Computer Services Department at Great Basin College. I defined this department over the years, hired, trained, and supervised employees. Served as CTO representing GBC for the Nevada System of Higher Education. Academic and Administrative computing functions along with vendor relations, purchasing technology, classroom setup/design and new and existing construction infrastructure, designed and setup campus networks and network security and worked with the System Computing Services for WAN connectivity. Served on various faculty senate committees, budget and facilities, personnel, and distance education. Chair of the technology group representing faculty senate. Worked with Interactive Video equipment and room setups. Evaluated and established a help desk and a ticketing software package and the campus WiFi network. I was a member of the hiring committee for the Vice Chancelor of Technology for the NSHE system and for the Associate Vice Chancelor of Technology. Strategic planning, budgeting, and goal-setting initiatives at the college and NSHE system level.

Vendor relations for IT department, provide quotes and purchasing of equipment for home and branch offices. Coordinate new office installations of computer and network equipment including phone systems. Travel to branch offices to install/setup the network and computer equipment. Maintain hardware inventory and installation/support of hardware including computers, laptops, printers, and servers. Received Presidential Recognition Award at end of first years employment.
