I am a researcher who conducts policy-relevant research on corruption, democratization, and U.S. foreign policy. My work focuses on the causes and consequences of organized crime and migration, as well as the policy responses and challenges. I have published several reports, articles, and book chapters on these topics, and presented my findings at academic and professional conferences.I am also a PhD candidate in political science at the Steven J. Green School of International and Public Affairs, a member of the Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs (APSIA). I hold a master's degree in Latin American and Caribbean studies from the same institution, and a bachelor's degree in political science from Oregon State University. Before joining FIU, I worked as a journalist for over 20 years, holding various leadership and editorial positions at CBS Interactive, where I oversaw daily operations and strategic integration across multiple platforms and teams.
