Then directed, motivated and led the Sales team through implementation of effective sales strategies in line with overall hotel positioning. Worked directly with the Revenue Management and Reservations teams to optimize rooms revenues, while maximizing the balance between staff, guest, and owner satisfaction. This led to consistently outperforming the competition on an annual basis by 11.63% in Revpar (Revenue Per Available Room = Profitability). This equated to an average of $19.69 above the competition from 2011 - 2013. Built relationships with key luxury travel providers in order to maximise the yeild and average daily rate for the hotel, and then grew this market by 50% year over year. This helped outperform competitive set hotels on an annual basis by 11.97% in ADR (Average Daily Rate = Price per product sold). In part, due to the positioning of the brand in the global marketplace the hotel was awarded the American Automobile Association’s (AAA) highest achievement, the Five Diamond Award. The hotel was the only one in Vancouver to achieve this and only 1 of 4 in Canada.Highlights:• Opened the first property in North America for Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts, introducing the city of Vancouver, and the North American audience to a new brand of luxury hotels.• Beginning from zero accounts built a network of over 125 corporate accounts that equated to 13% of the hotels annual rooms revenue. These accounts showed a consistent growth averaging 6.3% annually in ADR (Average Daily Rate = Price) from 2009 - 2013.• Wrote and executed the annual marketing and communications plan. This led to outperforming competitive set hotels within Vancouver in a variety of key metrics year after year. • Coached and developed a team of 8 sales staff. In 2013 this resulted in 4 team members being awarded Shangri-La`s Presidents Club Award for sales excellence by achieving over 115% of budgeted revenue goals. -
