Responsible for monthly financial statements for two regions comprising more than 100 outpatient hemodialysis clinics and acute hospital dialysis programs and $250 million in annual revenues. Also responsible for supervision of accounting, accounts payable, and payroll functions. Supervised 3 senior accountants, 2 staff accountants, a payroll clerk and an Accounts Payable Manager. Completed a monthly financial package that included financial statements as well as key operating metrics and a narrative that explained major fluctuations from budget or prior month.Oversaw/actively involved in the monthly review of revenues and accounts receivable (A/R). Charges were reviewed for reasonableness and verification that all charges at the facility were captured by the billing system. Reserves for contractual adjustments and bad debts were reviewed monthly to ensure A/R was properly valued on the balance sheet. Consolidated the financial statement close schedule from 13 days to 7 days. Substantially complete financial statements were "flashed" to corporate on the 4th business day.Completed annual operating and capital budgets and final budget review with operations before being presented to Executive Management at the corporate office.Directed the documentation and testing of internal controls to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley.In conjunction with Sarbanes Oxley, implemented improved control procedures including timely GL account reconciliations and approvals and sign off process for major accounting processes.Compiled all requests for financial statement and internal control audits performed by internal and external auditors.
