Radio Frequency Technician
Performs duties relating to measuring Radio Frequency (RF) emitting systems and the ambient RF environment collection using antennas, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and other test equipment. This position performs Closed Loop measurements, Over‐the‐Air (OTA) measurements, RF monitoring services, Target Configuration Management(TCM) measurements, and RF Safety Measurements. Conducts tests or experiments requiring selection and adaptation or modification of a wide variety of critical test equipment and test procedures; install, operate and maintain equipment; records data, measures and records problems of significant complexity that sometimes require resolution at higher level; analyzes data and prepares test reports. Works with engineers in technical and collaborative manners conducive to accurate capture and reporting of data. Maintain relationships with customers, engineers, and other DOD, test, or support individuals. Verifies test requirements as well as provide input into test planning, execution and post‐test analysis. Properly calibrates, operates and maintains the electromagnetic environment (EME) system. Installs and maintains Counter Remote controlled improvised explosive device Electronic Warfare (CREW) system hardware on test vehicles. Loads CREW configuration and verifies proper system operation. Performs other duties as required to complete the assigned mission. Mentors and provides guidance to junior technicians. Performs Quality Assurance activities. Utilize basic computer, programming, and webpage development skills. Work in austere environments with non-standard work hours.
