Nichol Beauty Products Ltd was closed down after acquisition by the Robert McBride group, so I took a role of Group IT Manager, responsible for the Installation of servers and infrastructure, together with development of bespoke software and maintenance of key business systems.

Working from head office I had a team of four that were split into the following disciplines; training, network Administration, help desk and development. My responsibilities included the following: -• Provide IT solutions to the board and departmental representatives to solve business issues.• Design, develop and deploy bespoke mission critical applications.• Build and maintain PC’s and Servers.• Design, installation and maintenance of network communications.• Install and maintain all user/server software.• Set-up and control Electronic Data Interchange between customers and suppliers.• Develop IT policies and procedures.• Develop IT security procedures.• Develop disaster recovery plans and procedures.• Year 2000 policy and procedures.• Provide on going training for 200+ IT users to ensure productive use of existing and new systems.• Manage Help desk, and produce call analysis reports to aid user-training plan.• Budget management.• Hardware and software asset management.

Responsible for planning and production of all Household and Toiletry bulk liquids. During this time I also took over raw material purchasing which allowed me to effectively match sales orders/forecasts against actual production plans and subsequent bulk liquid manufacturer for production. Achievements were, design and introduction of ISO9002 quality procedures and health & safety. I also played key part in design and implementation of plant and key business IT systems.

Responsible for process planning and liaison with the end manufacturing side of the business to ensure all bulk and chemicals were available on time.
