Coffee Heroes follows an outwardly calm Polish barista and her journey to becoming the first female World Barista Champion. She forms an unlikely relationship with a fiercely competitiveand coffee obsessed former champion as her coach and mentor.After winning the World Barista Championship in 2015, Sasa Sestic's obsession for coffee and competition is still paramount. In 2018, Sasa is mentoring Aga (Agnieszka Rojewska), the youngbarista from Poland who recently won the Polish Barista Championship. This is the 18th year of the World Barista Championship and Aga is on a mission to be the first female ever to win.Aga and Sasa travel to remote Ethiopia, the birthplace of coffee, with a group of coffee connoisseurs. They are on a wild, off the beaten track adventure in search of the ‘perfect’ coffee to take to the Championship in Amsterdam.Coffee Heroes is about an unlikely partnership, a love of coffee and the obsession to fulfill a dream! Producing and directing an independent feature documentary film. The coffee man was filmed in multiple locations around the world, including: Ethiopia, Brazil, USA, Honduras, Colombia and Australia. I was in charge of all productions in all locations and crewing for each shoot.I was in charge of workflow management and worked as Assistant Editor to rename film files and create post-production workflow for 15 TB's of footage, shot on a variety of cameras.This has been a HUGE passion project that was successfully screened all around the world.The Coffee Man has screened in 350+ theatres in 55 countries & been translated into 10 languages. It was an observational documentary examining the Tamil villages’ limited access to clean water. We raised $10,000 to build a tube well in a local village, which had no electricity and little access to clean water.As part of a three-man film crew, my role was to script, film and edit the trailer. The film follows a barista on coffee buying expeditions around the world and finishes up at the World Barista Championships.My role in the film production included scripting, filming, sound, photography and conducting on-camera interviews. I was also involved in postproduction, spending 5 months working in-studio with the chief editor, Tony Stevens ASE.After the film’s release, I was responsible for creating promotional material, including videos and social media marketing. I was also in charge of travel logistics and event organization.
