Operate in dual roles, assuming additional responsibility for managing professional development and learning functions across the organisation.Focus on overseeing strategic initiative to provide industry-leading training solutions and products alongside Knect365 flagship events series.Develop and commercialise training and learning solutions for international delivery across digital and traditional platforms.Designed and launched innovative products that have acheived significant commercial success.Created and commercialised highly targeted learning and training interventions for major global event brands in the Finance sector; includes SuperReturn, FundForum, QuantMinds, RiskMinds, and Banking Technology.Established and sold corporate training solutions to major organisations including HSBC, RBS, NatWest Markets, TD Ameritrade and BNP Paribas.

This new role was created to bring about sales growth acceleration of corporate and digital training solutions across Informa’s core vertical business streams (Finance, Life Sciences, Maritime, Technology, Energy and Business Skills). This was very much a commercial sales focused function within the business where our consultants sell and build customised training solutions for clients globally. I travelled extensively, working with clients in the US, Europe, Africa, Middle East and Asia. The business is also going through a dramatic period of digital transformation and I worked very closely with our content producers in order to bring new digital courses and solutions to the market. Core elements of the role involved restructuring the sales operations to position them for growth, developing best practice sales approaches, drive growth and creation of digital learning products.

Main areas of responsibility (for all business units):• All budgeting, strategy, forecasting and financial planning• Managing and guiding the senior international business development teams within the business units • Developing and implementing all strategic activities with a view to developing the businesses both domestically and internationally • Domestic and international marketing strategies (including direct mail, e-marketing and new media interventions)• Working with the product development teams in order to research and launch new products and initiatives in our different global markets• Developing relationship with academic partners (mostly universities) • All staff recruitment and training (product, service, sales and marketing)• I also spend time out in the market supporting the senior business development managers with their client development activities around the world. Key markets include, Asia, Middle East, Europe, Scandinavia, West Africa the US and CanadaMajor Accomplishments in the role:• Oversaw the development of our first specialist digital MBA programme (MBA in Shipping & Logistics)• Developed further digital MBA and MSc programmes (Banking & Finance, Oil & Gas, General)• Expanded the corporate (in-house) training business globally, developing highly customised training solutions for clients all over the world • Expanded the content via additional modules on our world leading Terrorism Studies e-learning course which runs in partnership with St Andrews University • Developed new MSc and Diploma product offerings in the Security Studies field with London Metropolitan University• Secured new academic partnerships with the World Maritime University and Middlesex University Business School• Oversaw the development of a suite of digital Post Graduate Certificate courses for the Investment Banking sector – the first courses of their kind to carry such accreditation.

A strategic commercial leadership role with responsibility for building the global digital and distance learning business within the Maritime, Energy and Security sectors. Role involved sales strategy and execution, business development, marketing and product creation in the distance and e-learning fields.I worked extensively with leading academic institutions around the world and built our corporate client training business with leading global clients building the business to a turnover of £8.5m.In December 2016 I moved away from the distance learning businesses in order to take up a new position as Managing Director of Global Corporate Client Solutions.

Moved to Thomson Financial to set up a global financial training business.
