I believe the best way to help your clients is by educating them and supplying them with the data they need to refine their business. Data scientists believe that too. But clients also need a data story, with heroes, villains and a plot. And that's where I'm different. I'm a corporate communications specialist with experience supporting a range of organizations -- private, public, non-profit, startup and mature. In recent years, I've focused on working with non-profits and municipalities to create data-driven dashboards. I take an approach that puts a marketing and storytelling lens on these dashboards, recognizing that people process information in a certain way. I've also sought to incorporate data analysis into traditional marketing communications for non-specialist audiences, like electronic newsletters and websites. I'm also a generalist who plays all the instruments -- I can write a story, lay out a brochure, shoot a video and create a website -- which helps me get the job done quickly and inexpensively.
