The first time I tried to run a business I was 5 years old. I grabbed all the kids in my neighborhood, and we planned a carnival in our backyard. I recall talking it through with my fellow 1st graders, writing cards and sticking them in mailboxes announcing the big day. We each made $1.25. We were ecstatic. I’ve been an entrepreneur at heart, literally, since I was a child. I love building organizations. The only thing that has changed is how I approach it. Today that approach is all about empowering and developing others. I design and facilitate leadership programs and executive team gatherings across the globe and am an advisor and executive coach to leaders and their teams. My passion has always been at the intersection of personal and professional development. I lead the High Potential Leaders Fellowship at JA Worldwide, a top 10 global NGO nominated for three consecutive years for the Nobel Peace Prize. I was Global Lead Facilitator at IVY, a community that serves more than 10,000 CEOs globally. Prior to that, I founded and led an IBM consulting practice globally, and was the MBA Professor of Leadership at Bard College, where I developed the curriculum for one of the first MBAs in Sustainability in the US.My newest project is the Ambitious Dads Initiative. As a father to two young boys, I am interviewing 100+ Ambitious Dads about the unmet needs of fathers in the family ecosystem to demonstrate why dads who are clear about their family goals are better for everyone; the dad, the child, the partner, and the workplace. I speak globally on the topics of purpose, empathy, fatherhood, leadership and 21st century careers. As a thought leader, I’ve been published in a half dozen major publications, including Forbes.
