Jeff is a global glycolic acid expert recognized for new market and customer driven innovation, product development advancements and commercialization, and new product development in personal care and hard surface disinfection. As the Global Product and Market Leader for Chemours, Jeff leads development and technical research activities. He demonstrated that personal care formulations containing as little as 1% Glypure™ 70 (high purity glycolic acid), likely need no other preservatives in the formulation. He also led research efforts for Glyclean™ AM glycolic acid, recognized as an effective disinfectant against SARS-CoV-2, the virus which causes COVID-19. This resulted in effective development of adding Glyclean™ Hard Surface Cleaner formulation on EPA’s List N (formulations known to effectively kill the novel corona virus). Jeff has developed and executed strategies to utilize glycolic acid’s availability and unique properties to not only meet a disinfectant supply need but to delight customers with long term formulation development. Jeff has led ground-breaking research and market development applications in personal care; registered glycolic acid based disinfectant formulations; patented industrial application utilizing glycolic acid; and has brought new and novel forms of glycolic acid to market.He has worked around the world with glycolic acid in a wide range of market and applications. These applications have taken advantage of its dual alcohol and acid chemical functionalities. Not your typical business leader, he is an innovator who has been granted inventorship of two patents. The first being the use of glycolic acid to inhibit HCN polymer formation in the manufacture of a nitrile. The second patent, and more recent, is related to the use of the cyclic diester of glycolic acid to deliver a proactive form of glycolic acid to skin in personal care formulations. Jeff is sought-out presenter at conferences and forums. He presented at Chemours’ development of Glypure™ GL at in-cosmetics® Global 2016 and he has presented at the Society of Cosmetic Chemists Technology Showcase in New York City.
