Co-founder of Islandport Media, leading a media and publishing company built around the central themes of an informed citizenry, an engaged community, and the innate human desire for connection. We seek to preserve the contemporary foundational connection points—physical spaces, books, newspapers—that help hold a community together and sustain a society, while also adapting to emerging technologies, to ensure the sustainability of our mission. We provide a platform for the voices that are helping make sense of our world and who are helping find common ground, truth, and a better way forward. I have the rare ability to be logical and process oriented, while also creative, empathetic, and intuitive. Long story short, I create a lot of good stuff, on deadline, and excel at pulling people together to achieve a common goal.I was born in northern Maine, attended the University of Maine, and have lived in the Camden area for long enough to stop counting. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, I held positions in the industrial sector, as a software & design engineer; and the financial & marketing sectors, in a broad range of technology, people management, administrative, and client support roles. While engineering schooling and an early corporate career helped shape the finer aspects of my project, process, and workflow management skills, I've thrived in fueling my right brain's thirst for creative pursuits, in a career centered on media and publishing. My passion to explore, further understand, and describe the human condition, the story of our days, the aesthetic nature of our places, manifests itself in my work, through the creation of words and images that connect with real people, messaging that elicits core emotions, and a depth that resonates beyond the screen.During the media industry's early migration to a digital-centered model, I worked with small businesses to establish their online brands and pivot to an online revenue generating model. As digital strategy became increasingly critical, I led audience development and marketing at a regional publisher with multiple titles, where I advanced its digital strategies into revenue and customer generation ecosystems that fostered print subscription growth and ancillary revenue streams in areas like experiential, email, and e-commerce. Today, I am committed to using my unique position in media and publishing to create the conditions for human connection and to elevate the voices of our fellow citizens.
