Performed assessments of new product names prior to product release to ensure no conflicts with existing trademarks and to ensure the use of protectable marks. Gathered evidence of use to support prosecution efforts in various foreign jurisdictions for various marks from the Yahoo! portfolio. Liaised with the Yahoo marketing team to verify use and confirm desire to renew existing marks. Prepared and submitted a trademark application, including the goods description, for a slogan attached to an existing Yahoo! product.

I was assigned my own, entrepreneurial clients, seeking legal help for opening a business. My first client requested help registering a trademark and advice on how to approach a potential infringer. I performed clearance and an investigation of the potential infringer and drafted a letter to the client outlining all of the potential options and potential barriers to registration. My second client was creating an app and I advised him of the safeguards that he should have in place prior to going live with the app and I drafted a Terms of Service for his app. My final client was seeking to register a trademark and inspected her specimens, drafted her goods descriptions, and ensured that the product use matched with the current specimens prior to submitting a trademark application.

Worked directly with the Trademark partner to perform legal research, draft demand letters, discovery, UDRP complaints, internet takedowns, and coordinate with paralegals on joint projects.Successfully secured transfer of infringing domain name for client by researching, drafting, and filing UDRP complaint.
