Building productive, diverse teams to facilitate change and do good makes me happy. I love connecting the dots, and finding hidden talents of already existing team members!Facilitating experiential Leadership/collaboration programs with Fortune 500 companies such as Delta, Bank of America, Hilton, Mars, Nissan, and Borders really developed my creative problem solving chops. The role I held at Borders was a critical time for me when I identified that a franchise could be part of the fabric of a community; by providing resources and engaging programs and great customer service. Finding unique ways to differentiate our stores was how I became referred to as the “idea generator” by colleagues. Plus, being surrounded by books, music and coffee?!More meaningful work was calling me, and my next role – in Animal Welfare/non-profit management - led me down the path of wanting to influence change. My combined experiences as a rescue volunteer– and facilitating leadership programs for Fortune 500 companies led to my role of Director of Operations for Big Dog Ranch Rescue. Changing the culture was job one. This was a transformative experience. At the ranch I led a team of 60, grew scheduled volunteer shifts by 60%, managed a 12-acre facility, cared for 300 dogs, and worked closely with board members. During my tenure, we saved more dogs than any other time in their history. Eventually, I co-founded a nonprofit, which combined dog rescue with addiction recovery. We incorporated the care of animals and facility into the daily recovery routine of young men hoping to make positive change in their life. Once that program was thriving, It was time to find a new challenge. These days as a non-profit leader/consultant I pride myself on leading with creativity and integrity. I tend to "land" at organizations where the staff need love, systems improvement and team development. Utilizing animal or music-assisted modalities to assist in the therapy/treatment for those battling trauma, PTSD, SUDS, and other Mental Illnesses has become a niche in which I thrive. Outside of work I decompress with music, yoga, dogs and friends. I consult as part of a team working with companies looking to implement a workplace culture of creativity and collaboration. In 2021 my songs "The Harder You Fall, co-written with Alex Tievy (Adele), and "November Again" both hit #1 on the N1M Americana Music Charts. What I've learned as a cause leader, is that you can be a data-driven organization while still leading with your heart.
