• High level management of the day-to-day engineering, technical development and administrative activities of the FA department in Semtech Canada.• Manages/leads a team of FA engineers, providing mentoring, coaching and consultation in day-to-day work challenges and employee development.• Identifies FA development projects that are related to process improvements and introduction of new FA capabilities and techniques. Plans for the systematic and timely execution of these projects, executes the projects either directly or as an individual contributor or thru team collaboration, and oversees completion.• Reviews and approves FA reports and makes necessary changes and recommendations to improve the report technical accuracy and business impact.• Works very closely with the staff to achieve FA team performance metrics (i.e. cycle times, success rates, etc.) that are within or exceeding customer expectations.• Facilitates and directly participates (as a presenter) FA/QA technical sharing sessions to further improve the team's technical skills and awareness of the most recent FA techniques in the Semicon Industry.• Identifies, plans and executes (with the team) continuous improvement initiatives related to laboratory safety.• Performs actual failure analysis of customer returns and internal requests as an individual contributor to help the team successfully achieve the target FA metrics.• As a certified internal Quality Auditor, occasionally conducts internal ISO audits for the QMS team whenever requested.

• Performs package and die level failure analysis on optical and analog and mixed signal ICs for video and data communications applications.• Reports findings on written reports in a timely, professional and organized fashion.• Acts as an FA team leader and mentor. • Manages a team of highly competent FA Engineers who are responsible in the failure analysis of High Speed A/D and D/A Converters, Micro-Isolators as well as ICs in the following application: Advanced TV, Automatic Test Equipment (ATE), Power/Energy Metering and High Definition/Fidelity Audio. • Performs extensive die-level product failure analysis (FA) on customer returns, Reliability Monitor and Qualification failures, assembly and test manufacturing line failures, OQA (Outgoing Quality Assurance). Documents and communicates the FA results thru a formal FA report.• Reviews and approves FA reports for customers and makes necessary recommendations.• Communicates with various ADI end customers and/or ADI customer representatives in US, Europe, Japan, China and South East Asia to discuss the results of their FA requests.• Coordinates with various engineering groups such as Product Line, Wafer Fab, Test and Assembly Engineering regarding root cause analyses as part of 8D activities.• Issues Corrective Action Requests for internal process-related failures. Receives and summarizes contents of 8D report to incorporate the vital information into the final FA report.• Responsible for the development of new Failure Analysis techniques and capabilities.• Responsible for the improvement of the department’s internal processes.• Department representative for internal and external quality audits.• Acts as the officer-in-charge in the absence of the department manager
