Responsible for identifying and acquiring transportation and critical infrastructure work within the Southwest Region. This includes managing a team of four directors and reps that cover Southern California, all of AZ, New Mexico, and West Texas. I support BD efforts in the Intermountain and Pacific Northwest Regions as well. We focus on the right delivery methods on the right opportunities, and create an environment for success between all parties; the owner, engineering and design team, stakeholders, and of course our team including our trade partners.

Responsible for pursuing opportunities for the transportation group. This includes; Aviation, Heavy Highway, Municipal Roadways, Site Development, Dams, Light Rail, and Freight Rail in the Southwest Region (Southern California, AZ, and NM). Responsibilities also included assembling the right team members for our pursuits, managing the process and ensuring the design phase and preconstruction deliverables mitigated risk and set the projects up for success. To help establish, confirm and review the project goals consistently, ensuring the team was in alignment for the rest of the project, and maintained professional working relationships with owners, architects, engineers and subcontractors. Responsibilities also included strategically assembling joint venture and design partnerships, negotiating JV agreements, and creating targeted adjunct teaming strategies with small/minority business enterprises.

Manage the pursuit, design and cost estimate phase of Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) Construction Manager / General Contractor (CMGC) and Design Build (DB) projects for the Transportation Group in the Southwest region. Project experience at Sundt includes nine CMAR/CMGC, DB and CSP projects totaling over $800M with multiple GMPs.

Manage all Design Phase Contract services for Alternative Delivery Method Projects (Design Build and Construction Manager at Risk) for the Phoenix Highway Group. Projects range from large municipal road improvements to site work / plazas, parks, facilities, bridges and dam rehabilitation. I worked on 30 different contracts in a five year period, ranging in size from $1M - $27M, totaling over $200M in construction revenue.

As a minority owner and V.P. of sales, I participated in the due diligence during the acquisition of a sand and gravel / Ready-Mix supplier that had mining rights to aggregates in three (3) locations within Mohave County. I updated permits at three locations and ensured compliance with BLM / AZ State Land, and the Ft. Mohave Indian Community. Additional agency compliance included ADEQ and MSHA. I managed quality control, gradation and mix design performance of all aggregate and ready-mix products. I was responsible for producing revenues up to $20M annually. During our second year I managed a capital improvement plan that upgraded all heavy equipment, crushing/screening, batching, and advanced the automated batching capabilities with state-of-the-art software. I replaced conventional equipment with automated technology in order to produce higher quality products. In the third year of our venture, I participated and supported the sale of the company to Drake Cement, LLC a subsidiary of ARPL (Cementos Lima). The purchase and sale of this company was a success, and I returned to work at Hunter Contracting Co. to continue my career in Heavy Civil Construction.

Held numerous positions: Field Engineer, Project Engineer, Superintendent, Estimator, Project Manager. In 2004 I was responsible for all estimating and project management for private work within the Phoenix / Metro area. Clients ranged from residential developers to public/private utility owners. Projects ranged from $100K - $5M.
