I was on "sabbatical" for the past 2.5 years, but now I'm making official. I'm retired. I have no idea how I used to have time to do the work thing plus commute. Commuting was awful. It used to take me 2.5 hours to get home! I never ever want to do that again. I did a lot of cool things when I was working, and I'll never forget any of that or the people I met when I was working... especially at LSI Logic. But I meet so many great people now, and I don't have to put up with the bull puckey. I'm quite happy to just rock on and do what I want to do every day... or maybe what my wife wants me to do?

Aptina was purchased by ON Semiconductor shortly thereafter. Managed the transition of Aptina’s worldwide FAE organization into ON Semiconductor’s field organization. Retained 100% of the FAEs while I was responsible for them during the transition.• Led the Applications Engineering, demo system software development (DevWare), mobile camera module development, and North American imaging FAE groups throughout the next phase of integration into ON Semiconductor. Worked with my team and APAC management to develop a framework for the China Imaging Solutions Engineering Center.• Managed hardware development for evaluation/demonstration systems, silicon test equipment, and mobile camera modules through the final phase of integration. Developed solutions and test vehicles for automotive imaging applications including a test platform for side mirror replacement cameras. This was probably the time I was most bored during my professional life. There was not any depth to this position, and I was not able to have an impact role regardless of what I pushed for. Never stay anywhere for a large sum of RSUs.

This enabled our customers to develop and deliver approximately 60 new consumer electronics products per year.• Provided technical support to field organizations and top tier customers including Sony, JVC, Philips, Panasonic, Samsung, and LG to meet their time-to-market goals and the division’s revenue targets.• Solved complex silicon issues as part of a cross-functional team and managed difficult communications with affected customers including Sony and JVC.• Served on the group’s executive staff including completion of the sale of the group to Magnum Semiconductor.
