I am Managing Director of Mercer Capital’s Financial Institutions Group. Founded in 1982, Mercer Capital is a national valuation and financial advisory firm. I work extensively with clients on M&A transactions (both sell-side and buy-side) and other valuation-related engagements. I began my career in banking with AmSouth (now Regions) in 1985 and have focused on financial services ever since.Financial services represent Mercer Capital’s largest sector concentration. We work with banks, thrifts, asset managers, insurance companies and agencies, BDCs, REITs, broker-dealers and financial technology companies. Although the majority of clients are privately held or are sponsors of private equity and credit funds, I work with a number of publicly-traded companies, too.Prior to rejoining Mercer Capital in 2012, I spent over a decade as a sell-side analyst covering banks primarily and specialty finance companies at Guggenheim Securities, FTN Financial Securities (FTN Midwest Securities), and J.C. Bradford & Co. Awards include Starmine/Forbes for earnings accuracy and stock picking in 2005, 2007 and 2009 and the Wall Street Journal’s “Best on the Street” in 2007. I publish frequently and regularly speak at industry gatherings and to corporate boards on banking, markets and other corporate finance matters.
