I established Lordstone Business Advisors as a strategic consulting firm serving small to medium-sized business owners who want to grow their businesses. Over the last 20 years of owning several companies, I wished I had someone to walk alongside of me when running the businesses. Formulating strategy, staying focused on the execution and being accountable are vital to success, but something entrepreneurs are not particularly gifted at doing on a consistent basis. Managed the day to day operations of a team of 3 researchers within a middle management executive search firm based in Michigan. Responsible for hiring, training and managing this team who was in-turn providing passively sourced candidates to search consultants in the automotive, banking, consumer products and general manufacturing sectors.Customers served included: Mazda, Republic Bancorp, HoneyBaked Ham, Textron, Borg Warner, Autoliv, Allied Signal, Sullair, United Technologies, Gates Rubber and many others.

Directed the sales and marketing efforts of a global marine equipment manufacturer. Established a foundational marketing process that focused on building awareness of the manufacturers products within the leading global naval architectural firms. This resulted in the adoption of the manufacturers products (watertight sliding doors, hatches and valve systems) into the specifications of many ships on a "preferred or equivalent" basis. Promoted the operational cost savings to the engineering and operations departments of shipowners, including Circus Circus, Harrah's, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, Carnival Cruise Lines, Washington State Ferries, The Steamship Authority and many other owners.Informed the leading shipyards of the world of the cost savings associated with the installation of the firms products. Shipyards include Chantiers de l'Atlantique (STX France), Kvaerner Masa-Yards (STX Finland), Volkswerft Stralsund GMBH, Meyer Werft, VT Halter Marine, Atlantic Marine (BAE Systems Southeast Shipyards) and many others.Directed the sales efforts of the business on a domestic and then global basis through the identification, qualifying and appointment of foreign agents in 18 countries.

Hired as the first research analyst, on a national basis, within this middle management focused executive search firm. Performed executive research work within the telecommunications, data communications and building products industries.
