Cumberland County local rules allow all parties to a child or spousal support action to appeal de novo the result of their initial support conference. The Support Master conducts hearings, takes testimony, and issues recommended orders for those appeals.

Mooney & Asociates is a general practice firm, handling both civil and criminal law. Personally, my practice gravitated towards a concentration in family law; however, I was exposed to cases in matters ranging from simple property disputes to complex municipal litigation. I also assisted clients with, among other things, criminal matters, estate planning, and juvenile dependency.Although I was based in Cumberland County, my clients came from many other counties, including York, Adams, Franklin, Fulton, Perry, and Dauphin. I appeared in matters before Magistrate Judges and the Courts of Common Pleas in each of those counties. Also, I was able to take several cases on appeal to the Superior Court or the Commonwealth Court, both drafting the briefs and presenting the oral arguments in those cases.

Older adults often face a unique set of legal concerns ranging from health and long-term care needs to issues of abuse and neglect. As a student at Penn State Dickinson I had the opportunity to gain firsthand experience in issues of law and aging by working in the Elder Law and Consumer Protection Clinic. The clinic was staffed and operated by Penn State Dickinson students who were certified to practice in Pennsylvania courts. The Clinic provided "first chair" opportunities to interview and counsel clients, prepare correspondence and legal documents, and negotiate or prepare for appearances in front of courts or administrative agencies.

I owned this small restaurant in Dillon Colorado (ski country). The restaurant featured a fun bar and live music, and sold some of the best pizza I've ever tasted. It was located at 9100 feet above sea level and was less than a 15 minute drive to ski resorts at Keystone, Arapahoe Basin, Breckenridge, and Copper Mountain. The restaurant was intially purchased with two life-long friends, but eventually their shares were sold and for the last two years the restaurant was my burden, and my love, alone.During my tenure the restaurant, although already successful and established before being purchased, flourished to new heights. Over the five years I was involved with the restaurant annual sales grew from approximately $225,000 to nearly $500,000. The substantial growth attracted several motivated buyers, and eventually allowed me to sell the restaurant and go to law school.

Agribuys was a dot com company which supplied software to help with the logistics of buying, selling, and transporting perishable products, especially fruits, vegetables, and meat. The biggest challange was being able to "speak the language" of the rural farmer growing strawberries or carrots, while at the same time being able to communicate those comments and suggestions back to the programmers and software developers, who of course have their own highly specialized language.
