Managing Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) projects for the State of Rhode Island. Converted to full-time employee January 2017, from contractor with Insight Global.

Coordinated managed-services onboarding of private-equity firm. Managed three network-related professional services projects -- two client facing and one internal.

Took over three client-facing Key Survey data collection and QlikView reporting projects -- gathered final business requirements, engaged clients’ data vendors, tracked development progress, tested and debugged SaaS-based custom solutions, and provided hands-on client support.

• Reviewed and approved requests for hardware for SFS applications in EMEA, Asia Pacific, and Latin America, accounting for current capacity utilization and corporate infrastructure standards. Significantly cut request turnaround times, allowing business critical projects to proceed on schedule. • Ran weekly conference call with EMEA system administrators and capacity manager, to discuss inflight and upcoming hardware requests; to track pending server decommissions, ensuring on-time completion to maximize cost-savings to business; and review server CPU / memory / disk utilization before issues arise.

• Managed division-wide server migration projects including: Autosys 4.0 to R11.3, Microsoft SQL 2005 to 2008, Windows 2003 to 2008, and TIBCO EMS 4.x to 6.1.• Mastered complex internal processes of large company, to efficiently request new servers and capacity upgrades, from approvals to procurement to installation. • Managed uptime of 400 physical and virtual Windows 2003 and 2008 servers that run division’s investor services and fund accounting applications. • Managed uptime of 100 Solaris, Linux, AIX, Windows and VMware servers. Saved division approximately $1,000,000 in annualized hardware costs by identifying servers to consolidate and decommission. Tracked total cost of ownership, reporting results to senior management. • Minimized downtime of municipal bond trading systems by approving and coordinating server and database upgrades, deployments, and decommissions. Collaborated with system and database administrators, network and storage engineers, data center operators, developers, and vendors. Responsible for afterhours production support for several applications.• Improved productivity of department’s 70 to 90 employees by guiding them through change and login management processes. Shared information on these workflows in Microsoft SharePoint wiki. Coordinated internal and industry-mandated disaster recovery tests. Won department’s Municipals Technology Peer Recognition Award. • Consolidated information of division’s applications, servers, software packages, and AutoSys batch jobs in a single intranet web portal. Designed web interface and managed implementation of website, database, and datafeed scripts.

• Ran day-to-day operations of Boston Development Center. Served as liaison to property management and telecommunications department. Organized office events, including “gold star” awards, jeans day for charities, and holiday parties. • Recruited co-op and entry-level programmers from Boston-area colleges. Mentored employees and guided them through company’s workflow processes and culture. Wrote and gave performance reviews. Guided Boston development teams through their production releases.

• Managed cross-departmental project to enhance existing trading system to enable Retail Corporate Bond desk to trade on TheMuniCenter (TMC) electronic exchange. Managed relationships with stakeholders including software vendor ION Trading, TMC, three internal development groups, and trading desk. • Responsible for afterhours production support of municipal bond trading systems.• Led in-house and outsourced development efforts in upgrading software and hardware platforms from Solaris 6 to 8.

• Enabled firm’s institutional futures salespeople to book electronic orders on CBOT, Eurex, CME and LIFFE exchanges using Trading Technologies’ X-Trader product. Coordinated installation of X-Trader software on client desktops and Windows servers. Provided production support 24x6 working directly with end-users and escalating to vendor as needed. Brought Citigroup’s connection to CME back online after 9/11. • Designed and implemented XHTML front-end for Global Futures Services Online extranet website. Designed and implemented Institutional Futures Sales Management System -- its CGI-based intranet website, Sybase database backend, and Perl data feed batch scripts. Gathered requirements from business head and worked with mainframe teams to obtain nightly data feed.

• Designed and implemented in C++ Investor Tracking System, a Java-version of which is still in use today by retail sales coordinators to track client holdings. • Implemented option adjusted spread (OAS) C++ class, used in proprietary net-present-value analytics. Designed and implemented Motif-based OAS calculator frontend.

Developed C++/Motif-based quote sheet for institutional high yield bond sales desk.

Enhanced and supported JAM-based trading system for Repo Desk. Using Purify software located and fixed pre-existing memory leak that caused system to crash and traders to lose business.

Designed and implemented in C JAM/ReportWriter Release 5. Wrote test scripts, edited user manual. Provided customer support for ReportWriter. Performed sales demos and engaged in short-term consulting projects.

Developed Natural 2 programs on IBM 3090 mainframe to print poll lists on IBM 3800 and Xerox 9700 printers. Ported C imaging functions from SunOS/C to SAS/C on MVS.
