Doubled the size of the Experience Layer (UI) team for Playbooks, the company’s flagship enterprise sales engagement platform. Reported directly to the CTO as a member of the senior leadership team helping to build the engineering & product culture, org structure, and processes that dramatically improved workflow and delivery across the organization. Collaborated with the Service Layer, Data Layer, QA, UX, and Product teams to deliver high priority customer facing features and enhancements.

Managed and led multiple web and mobile product engineering teams through major technology upgrades, feature enhancements, and architectural improvements. Maintained product roadmaps, organized backlogs, set priorities, aligned yearly OKRs, and actively contributed to quarterly Agile program increment (PI) planning sessions. Responsible for the performance, stability, availability, and accessibility of WGU web services and native mobile apps (iOS & Android) in both the current and next generation student experience. Championed the modernization and standardization of the global UI efforts across the EdTech organization.

Managed and led a group of 30+ developers and engineering managers spread across three time zones (Utah, San Francisco, Ireland). Introduced the concept of Centers of Excellence to the organization, while helping promote a culture of collaboration and idea sharing through the creation of the Ancestry Tree Talk series and planning of the annual Product & Technology Summit. Successfully delivered on initiatives that required significant cross-team coordination, including the development and adoption of a new CDN architecture and a custom-built library of shared components and services used by dozens of product teams.

Tasked with creating a centralized front end development team responsible for defining, developing, documenting, and delivering a consistent set of global UI standards and shared components that significantly improved page consistency, performance, SEO, and accessibility compliance. Oversaw the hiring, onboarding, training, resourcing, and overall career development of a growing team of talented developers.

Responsible for the front end coding and design of all domestic and international sites for both product and marketing groups. Managed projects, backlogs, prioritization, and resourcing of high profile features and campaigns viewed by millions. Helped document and enforce the adoption and use of global standards and best practices across product teams, while working to bridge the gap between the UX design and engineering groups.

Daily maintenance, development, and design of all domestic and international product and marketing pages for the MyFamily.com network of sites. Partnered with marketing, product management, and back end engineers to create a user-friendly site experience supporting over 13 million page views and 650 thousand visitors per day.

Planned and coordinated all digital marketing strategies including web content, SEO, site performance, and analytics for the largest professional job database on the Internet at the time. Created and produced company Intranet, monthly client newsletters, and landing pages to optimize the user experience across multiple channels and customer touch points. Oversaw the marketing program in the Salt Lake, Los Angeles and Houston areas, including events, trade shows, radio/TV advertising, and sports marketing. Wrote several 60-second radio commercials that aired in the Salt Lake and Los Angeles markets.

Created press releases, managed day-to-day news distribution, produced USSA Weekly Newsletter, and provided written material for media guides/press kits. Organized media/public relations support and event management/coverage (including the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan) to the United States Ski and Snowboard Teams. Maintained and managed USSA's Internet site (voted “Top 5%” by Lycos.com in 1998-99), photo archives, and media database.

Helped produce and provide content for BYU athletic media guides, game programs, and press kits. Wrote and distributed press releases and game recaps, and coordinated player/coach availability to local and national media outlets. Collected and organized team and player statistical information for the BYU athletic department historical archives.
