• Responsible for managing the overall design of retail concepts including development of the strategy and graphic communications hierarchy for clients in the mass merchandising, beverage, quick serve, and retail leasing business. These clients included Canadian Tire, Coca-Cola, McDonald’s and Brookfield Properties. • Key roles included presenting recommended concepts and final designs to Senior Executives, up-selling additional strategic and creative services and generating new business. Typically up sold an additional 50% of billable time over and above the main project billable time for each client. Recent new business wins included specializing in creating synergistic partnerships between clients (Coca-Cola and Cineplex) to increase each of their revenue and increase Watt’s billable time by 70%.

• Directed the physical creation of Retail space including the design and sourcing of exterior and interior signage/finishes and fixturing for Second Cup cafes, Rogers Plus Superstores and International Dairy Queen. Primary client contact and responsible for identifying opportunities to meet or exceed monthly sales targets. • Using retail expertise up sold packaging concepts to clients in the cosmetic and food categories that resulted in 25% more facings on shelf for key retailers such as Shoppers Drug Mart, Wal-Mart and Loblaws.

• Primary contact in the development, branding and execution of merchandising programs for Loblaws stores such as the President’s Choice Financial “P.C. Points” customer loyalty kiosk which linked customer banking traffic to on shelf product purchase incentives. Resulted in 80% customer retention for the first year of implementation.• Directed the design and implementation of 35 in-store banking kiosks for CIBC National Bank to introduce services in selected California, Colorado and Florida grocery stores within a 3 month timeframe.• Key client contact for developing new fast food franchise concepts, revitalizing convenience store brands and launching new in-store merchandising partnerships for retail clients in the United States and Canada.

• Provided management leadership and creative inspiration to the Merchandise Planning Department while working with Wal-Mart V.P.’s and related vendors to create merchandise plans and store fixture designs for over 15 million square feet of retail space.• Ability to successfully manage the U.S. parent company interests in order to balance overall company direction with Wal-Mart Canada Inc.’s strategic initiatives.• Responsible for managing Construction, Real-estate, external Architects and tenants such as McDonald’s, TD Canada Trust, Portrait Studios and Travel Agencies in order to provide each Wal-Mart store with the most effective tenant mix for generating additional store traffic.• Selected by Wal-Mart International as a store planning transition team member to work in Germany for 3 months and establish layouts for Wal-Mart Supercentre store designs.
