Transit Control Operations Supervisor
CurrentPerforms a variety of supervisory and administrative duties as assigned to ensure that safe, reliable, efficient and courteous transit services are provided to TTC customers.Preparing various staffing schedules as needed for supervisory personnel regarding work assignments, shifts, off-days, vacations, fill-ins and vacancy replacements.Reviewing and completing reports to ensure that information is correct, complete and in accordance with department practice; if required, verifying content and discussing to obtain further clarification.Oversee daily operations for all transit staff and contractual agreements. Supervise hourly and regular staff, and familiarize new and current operating personnel with operations, contracts and departmental and TTC policies and procedures.Ensure compliance to all TTC company standards and various local and network instructions in order to achieve a safe, secure and customer friendly environment. Serve in a front-line representative role to minimize and resolve complaints from customers regarding all TTC employees, station conditions, service, routes, passenger flow, etc.May be required to act as the Incident Commander during emergencies. Coordinate all on-site activities and logistics, and ensure the safe and prompt restoration of service in conjunction with other TTC personnel and outside agencies.Control various transit operations related incidents, as necessary to minimize service disruption and lost time, arrange for alternate transit options and plan restoration dates.Submit recommendations regarding policies, schedules, service performance, regulations, signage, etc. with the general intention to improve overall safety and service.Investigating a variety of TTC incidents regarding Operator performance and irregularities (signal contacts, platform overshoots, Subway/SRT/LRT Rule Book non-compliance, etc.) and providing detailed information to Transit Control and Divisional management in a timely manner.
