I was brought in to run the Toy Division including Product Development, Packaging, Marketing and management of the P&L. The Toy Division represents 54% of the company and key brands include Bright Starts, InGenuity, Comfort & Harmony, Baby Einstein, Taggies and Rhino Toys.* Exceeded 20% growth in the first year and 15% growth in sales in 2012.* Launched a new product category in generating new sales of over $20 million.* Successfully integrated two acquired companies and launched new lines in 6 months.* Directly supervised Product Development teams in the US and Asia including Engineering, Design, Packaging and Product Management, as well as the manufacturing vendor base.* Rebuilt Asia Product Development team with new leadership and improved the product development cycle by 2 months.

Mattel Asia-Pacific is a $400+ million region made up of 14 markets, including 12 in Asia. China, India and Japan are key growth markets in the Global Strategic Plan and investments in marketing, product development and infrastructure have been large over the past 5 years vs. other regions. Upon arrival in 2006, all markets in Asia were losing money and the region was in need of restructuring and an overhaul. I was brought in to "fix" the region and build a sustainable growth model.* Promoted to the head of marketing for Mattel Asia. Member of the Asia-Pacific Leadership Team driving all strategic planning and communications for the entire brand portfolio - IPS, Girls & Boys. Key focus markets were China, India, Japan and Australia.* Completely restructured and rebuilt the entire organization, including Marketing, to align with a new Asia-Pacific Strategic Plan.* Results included delivering record operating profit in Asia from 2008-2011 and leading all of Mattel International with sales growth of 40% and profit growth in excess of 1000% from 2009-2011.* Moved 12 markets into profitability from loss positions within 18 months.* Reorganized 4 separate teams and all marketing activities. Primary focus centered around engaging consumers, account management and new processes.* Developed and launched new Asia Digital Strategy with focus on local execution and consumer engagement. Multiple program formats across several markets generated over 250 million impressions and combined sales of over $1 million.* Built and developed new relationships with key studio and business partners such as Disney, Warner Bros, Nick & HiT. * Implemented new business disciplines leading to significant balance sheet and P&L improvements driving cash flow up over 20x.

United Kingdom / Ireland / Europe

Mattel UK is the 2nd largest subsidiary office in Mattel International with roughly $350 million in sales and oversees the UK and Ireland. My responsibilities included running the Boys/Games Business Unit, reorganizing all traditional marketing activities, developing a new digital marketing strategy and re-energizing a stagnant and declining business unit in the leading European market.* Successfully ran the portfolio of brands in the Boys/Games Business Unit including Vehicles, Entertainment and Games accounting for over $110 million in sales and $17 million in profit.* Reorganized all marketing activities to drive the largest sales and profit growth in the world for the Mattel Boys/Games Business Unit. Sales increased over 11% vs. PY and profits tripled to $17 million.* Developed and launched the first UK Digital Marketing Strategy and Ecommerce partnership programs.* Achieved total market share growth of 7% with record level shares in Wheels and Entertainment and the highest share growth in Games (+12% growth) from newly developed, localized products.* The "architect" behind the line plans and promotional programs with all major accounts leading to increased listings every season from 2004-2006.

Operating a small "toy company within Mattel," I built a new corporate sales channel that generated over $40 million in three years through promotional sales of custom designed toys. Our team ran it all from start to finish - customer acquisition, product and program design, sell in, closing the deal and delivery.* Built a highly profitable, customized toy sales and product development team that generated over $40 million in sales to major corporations over a 3-year period.* Built new relationships with key accounts such as Burger King, Subway, Oscar Mayer, Kraft, General Mills, Kellogg's, Coca-Cola, Warner Bros, M&M/Mars, Duracell and Georgia-Pacific.* Negotiated a multi-year, $7 million agreement with McDonald's in the US and extended to multiple McDonald's international regions.* Developed global promotions with Shell, ExxonMobil, Vodafone, Kellogg's, Duracell and Coca-Cola that generated over $10 million in revenue.* Integrated Hot Wheels sponsorships with NASCAR and F1 into the business to maximize Mattel's partnership with the world's two largest motorsports racing circuits.

It's core toy business is approximately $400 million globally and an extensive range of licensed products (non-toys) make this truly a lifestyle brand. I lead the development of countless new products, new category launches, TV commercials, media campaigns and wrapped all of this around key account plans.
