In January I finally became full time in the Office as a salary employee in the BIM Department. I have been successfully coordinating Major Projects, producing detailed shop drawings and laying out with Trimble/Hilti Total Station. Continuing my personal self-taught experience with Revit, I have been diving more into family creation; as well as my normal duties of coordinating models/projects, creating detailed shop drawings for field use, laying out electrical conduits/light fixtures with Trimble Total Station. Duties include but not limited to: 2D/3D designs using Autodesk Revit, Navisworks and Revizto. 2D layouts in CAD for Trimble Total Station Layout, creating project templates within Revit, keeping track of time, reviewing contract documents and creating RFI's, attending meetings with the G.C. coordinating and planning out work, documenting progress of jobs, and maintaining clean work environments. Other duties include but not limited to: software updates, networking support, and support for mobile devices.

During this time frame I elevated my status within the company and began my journey into the BIM world as well as running electrical projects in-between. I was introduced to Autodesk products such as Revit, Navisworks, and CAD. I had never used them before but took a quick interest and liking to it. I pretty much became self taught with the help of You-Tube and Google but successfully coordinated an Amazon Distribution Center buildout as my first BIM job in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. While it wasn't fully coordinated I drew up all the electrical components/routes within the model and produced detailed shop drawings for the field crew. I continued to run other projects after that until my second BIM job came up for managing and drawing up the entire lighting system for LSU Interim Hospital in downtown New Orleans, Louisiana. Duties include but not limited to: 2D/3D designs using Autodesk Revit and Navisworks, 2D layouts in CAD for Trimble Total Station Layout, keeping track of time, reviewing and marking up contract documents and creating RFI's, attending meetings with the G.C. coordinating and planning out work within different areas of the jobsites, documenting progress of jobs, and maintaining clean work environments.

Continued to run work within the Greater New Orleans area. I was Sub-Contracted to Johnson Controls twice within this timeframe. The first time was to Program and Commission air handling units at University Medical Center in New Orleans. The second time was to be a Site Superintendent for build-out/expansion of Mercy Hospital in Rogers, Arkansas where I was overseeing 5 different sub-contractors for 9 different low voltage systems within the hospital. Duties include but not limited to: programming/commissioning units, correcting any issues within the units as well as wiring within the control panels, programming and commissioning VFD drives, keeping track of time, managing sub-contractors, reviewing and marking up contract documents and creating RFI's, attending meetings with the G.C., coordinating and planning out work within different areas of the jobsites, documenting progress of jobs, and maintaining clean work environments.

I swapped over from the Cell Tower Crew to the Commercial Crew within our company and began training as an Electrician Apprentice at ABC Bayou Chapter. Enhanced my electrical/low voltage system skills and continued my education while running a BMS project at the VA Hospital in downtown New Orleans, Louisiana. Duties include but not limited to: keeping track of time, installing conduit/devices per plan, documenting progress of jobs, planning out work on a daily basis for the crew and maintaining clean work environments.

Started out as an Electrical Helper on the Cell Tower Crew installing AC/DC Power and Telco to Verizon, T-Mobile & Alltel cell tower sites. Worked my way up to running my own truck/crew traveling from Texas to Florida. Duties include but not limited to: keeping track of time, installing conduit/devices per plan, documenting progress of jobs, operating excavators, and maintaining clean work enviroments.
