Tooling designer for High Pressure Die Casting, Aluminum & Zinc Die Cast Dies.Part conceptual design, Preliminary layouts, Tooling design for (Unit Dies, Custom Dies, Avnet, Dynacast, Techmire), Slides, Trim Dies.Head up Solidworks implementation and integration.

Primary responsibility is to redesign existing patterns to increase production, efficiency and melt flow and reduce overall costs. This is accomplished through heading up a Team of people involved in different facets of production from Design, CNC Programming, Foundry Experts, Tool Room Machinist, CNC Set-up and Shop Floor Personnel, all coming together discussing ideas for improvement and then using these Team ideas to constantly improve and move forward. Here are a few examples of processes involved as Design Engineer/CNC Programmer. Model parts to customer specs, from prints or existing parts. Design Runner/Fill/Gating Systems for Mold Patterns and then simulate melt flow through MAGMASoft flow software and analyze results and make changes as needed to gating and runner system. Once final design is reached I then design and model a Cope & Drag Pattern for use in creating sand molds which are then used to create castings. After design is complete I then import model into Mastercam and program for CNC Mill.
