Manager Application Development
CurrentI have proven experience leading and managing in an application development environment. I am responsible for leading a large (20+) diverse team of mainframe application developers and technical analysts. Personally accountable for managing multiple large scale application development initatives in a fast paced environment; resource and project scheduling; employee coaching and development. I work closely with the Product, Project Management, Resource Vendors, and peer application development teams to define project priorities and drive project scope, budget, and time frames.I am responsible for managing people, hiring, firing, writing performance reviews, deciding compensation, and determining promotions. I ensure the execution of specific strategic functions and implementing high-end, business-wide, critical strategy on large complex application systems. I provide guidance, planning and direction for the business unit and application team while maintaining budgets and proactively allocating resources. I am responsible for aliging resources to functional and business units that will support implementations of high-end, business-wide, critical strategy set systems by senior management. Monitors expenses carefully and assists with activity prioritization. Build and maintain strong working relationships with a wide variety and levels of IT and business professionals. My team is responsible for developing application software, code deployments, application performance and capacity monitoring, problem research and resolution and coordinating activities with Project Management, Testing, Service, Operations, DBA and other organizations. I provide leadership across well-defined and homogeneous teams with moderate degrees of complexity. I will coach direct reports and subordinates.
