Jeff O’Neal, Sr. Director in NetApp’s Cloud Solutions Group leads Cloud strategy, development and Go-to-Market. Jeff drove NetApp’s entry into the OpenStack ecosystem, defining the product offering, as well as entry into OpenStack Foundation as a charter member, nurturing OpenStack, both through funding and code contributions related to storage and data management. Jeff has made a career of leading new market/technology initiatives over the past decade, leading teams that developed NetApp’s FlexPod Converged Architecture, in partnership with Cisco, and NetApp’s Open Solution for Hadoop. Prior to joining NetApp, Jeff led the go-to-market strategy and execution for Sun Microsystems very successful SunFire T1000 introduction including the ultraSPARC T1 microprocessor introduction. He has held senior management positions with global scope in functions ranging from microprocessor product management to professional services practice management.Jeff lives in southern California, travels globally to visit customers and partners. He holds an MBA from the Monterey Institute of International Studies, first in class, and a BSEE from California State University. He enjoys playing guitar -occasionally performing at open mic nights, fly fishing- especially in Montana, and snow skiing - wherever the powder falls.
