From his experience leading a national video news network to developing strategy and content for local newsrooms and websites, Jeff has a background of more than 20 years in digital and media strategies.Jeff is currently the West Coast Group News Director and Director of News and Special Projects with Sinclair Broadcasting, the largest privately-owned broadcasting company in the country. Jeff manages news departments in 11 Western markets as well as strategic projects across the group.. With more than 150 stations including 72 news operations nationwide, the news division late newscasts alone reach more than 20 million viewers each week. Content distributed across digital products expand the reach exponentially. Jeff previously focused on video product development, distribution and monetization for domestic U.S. and Latin America markets for the Associated Press. He tracked market trends and user consumption of video to match development with consumer and customer needs. Prior to the Associated Press, Jeff was the Senior Director of Strategic Content and News for Internet Broadcasting which develops and maintains web sites for almost 100 media properties. Jeff managed teams that developed video and text content as well as micro-sites in key vertical areas such as entertainment, travel, automotive and business. He was also responsible for all news published to the websites of the company’s customer groups. Jeff has an extensive background in local content development including web sites in four local media markets. He has also managed local TV news divisions in Atlanta, Norfolk, Va., Columbus, Ohio and Charleston, W.Va.Jeff also volunteers for various groups in his community as well as several journalism organizations.
