As a result of a corporate internal restructuring, I accepted an opportunity in Contract Administration to leverage my accounting and finance expertise to benefit the Contracts organization, and expand my range of experience. I assumed these responsibilities in the wake of personnel changes (two retirements) and system changes (PeopleSoft to SAP), and physical business relocation, with minimal learning curve and no interruption in customer service or business rhythms.

Directed financial and audit operations under Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 (SOX) and in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), corporate policies, and federal regulations. Developed risk-based audit plans. Oversaw staff recruitment, training, and supervision. Liaison with external auditors and corporate internal auditors to facilitate audits and maintain communications between auditors and stakeholders. Orchestrated field program reviews and assisted in strengthening control structure and process improvements. Member of corporate committee directing financial and audit operations under Sarbanes-Oxley Act and in compliance with GAAP, corporate policies and federal regulations. Pivotal contributor to transition teams, facilitating the integration of organizational cultures and infrastructures during three corporate internal reorganizations.

Led initiatives for planning and execution of financial audits, documentation, and testing of internal controls to ensure compliance with provisions of Section 404 of Sarbanes-Oxley Act. Instrumental in field audits ensuring compliance.

Oversaw full-scope accounting responsibilities in accordance with Cost Accounting Standards, company policies, and contract requirements.
